I think this song is fantastic and should be included in any modern black poetry discourse. The song captures so much of the desperation of the hood, as well as the environmental vices and valuelessness of life. As a result, the song offers a glimpse of a brutalized community with a sincere vision of the mindset of those black men who are caught up in the everyday hustle for survival.

Running through groupies and whoppers, I guess I got it honest And honestly I know I'm out here fucking up Seven grams of rock, I stuff 'em in my nuts And seven bucks an hour wasn't good enough Cause seven days a week I'm living in a rush Seven days a week I'm living in a rush Seven grams of rock, I stuff 'em in my nuts (Scarface) And the money was the root to what the evil is It's mandatory for me to live I hustle harder than the next dude Remember, everybody is out to get you Niggas don't respect to live and let live So I pack a .40 caliber cause that's how shit is Out here, no fear, fuck feelings Trigger man rule, that's the art of drug dealing I'm trying to stack my money to the ceiling No new friends, don't wanna talk about old business Sex on the beach, sipping Guinness With a bitch so thick she can't take no dick Imagine working grave-yard shifts Lost friends steady talking that shit A million a day is for minimum wage Work a nigga like a slave 'til he put him in his grave Frail moments, same page (Seven days a week I'm living in a rush Seven grams of rock, I stuff 'em in my nuts)

Madlib produced a perfect beat for Freddie Gibbs & Scarfaces lyrics. The whole DOOM is better to be rapping over Madlibs beats is moronic, DOOM & 'Gibbs are chalk & cheese, you can't compare them, DOOMS in a lane all by hisself, thats partly what makes him so fuckin dope, but this is a class album that at times I would rather listen to for that street shit rather than DOOMS genious abstract wordplay.Sidenote-why Scarface isn't in most peoples top 10 lyricists of all time escapes me.He is a master storyteller lyricist when he's on his game &never less than dope unlike Nas at times who always gets a spot in a top 10, he'd be in mine aswell...just sayin'.

For that we appreciated him beyond his once in a generation magnetic flow and his natural connection of abstract thoughts into chronological logic. Now he does songs with Moneybagg Yo. Sometimes what we think we know we don’t. This album is the best I’ve ever heard if you subtract the discographies of Lupe and Kendrick Lamar.
