But what I can't think is DJ Premier, Pete Rock or Dilla himself putting out something as risky yet fresh as the Beat Kondukta Series or some of the Medicine Show volumes back then. In that regard I could compare Madlib, if anything, to the likes of (among his contemporaries) Nujabes and Fat Jon (conceptually, not even musically).
