How many knew this: that this man trained police officers is self defense??? True Story...not just a beautiful voice...but one tough fella!!!!

If Freddie, and this song, don't bring a joyful tear to your eyes, you can't be much of a human being. [He lied about his age [15] and joined the USMC in WW2, fought on Iwo Jima and Guam]. He never got the respect he deserved.

What a cool video, thank you for sharing. I wrote to Freddie a few years back and he sent me an autograph. He’s gone now, R.I.P. ❤

Thanks for sharing that performance- I was the rhythm guitar and front man there (on the far right as you’re looking at Freddie)- I joined The Heartbeats in December of 1972 and was with him until April of 1976 and actually played in 44 states with 5 tours of Canada- Brings back lots of sweet memories- Thanks again - Marc Chase🎸

I've never seen this. Worked with him from 78 to 83. Great boss man. One of the best experiences of my life.
