True, add the fact that he went into the fight the lighter fighter because he wanted to match Pac's speed. He was actually close to 147 weeks before the fight in an attempt to get use to the weight. Totally wrong strategy. That being said, it doesn't take away anything from Pac. Skipping 140 lbs to fight a guy who has fought in the middleweight division was a ballsy move.
@user-ul3ow9zn6m3 ай бұрын
Oscar was weight drained at a 145 catch weight in the twilight of his career. Pacquiao was in his prime 2008-2011. If they fought each other both in their primes at 147, I still think Pacquiao would beat him either by knockout/TKO or by unanimous decision. Based on their fighting style, habits in the ring, and track record with championship fights. Pacquiao honed his trapping and counters during the Eric Morales trilogy. His faints and traps are so elusive most people just see the offensive, but miss seeing the set up of the traps, counters, then combos.

It was a modernized version of Henry Armstrong jumping from featherweight to welterweight (126 to 147-REAL weight divisions when there were a TOTAL of only 8 WORLD champions) and beating Barney Ross to a pulp. Difference was, Ross went the distance--thanks to a bit of mercy from Armstrong.
