I think "rested" voice is more appropiated, in my defence is recorded in 84 and released in 86 (if you search for "crowd pop festival" he has got a really similar tone, unluckily the rest of the show was in playback).

@@rickysld I think so, at that time Freddie starts to lose weight and have a more fragile physiology (obviously, at the same time he started to have a healthier life for his voice), it makes his voice sounds thinner, lighter and brighter, the high notes he hits are sharp and easy, the D5 he hits on Don't Try So Hard seem to have the same difficulty he would have to hit a B4 in the middle 80s (compare to One Year Of Love, sounds similar) and his speaking voice also changed to a tone he didn’t even use in the early 70s, very high see kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4uzfoV5mbVoqsU

I know, 'cos I was there! In the stalls, near the front. It was a sensational night of celebration. I even got to go to the after-show party at the Natural History Museum. What a night! I loved the musical, attended many performances, and met many actors, singers, and dancers.

Technically Freddie didn’t sing there. It was lip synced. He lost his voice last minute so they had to play the track. This was the last time he actually sang live.

The flip side is that we now have evidence to suggest that the actual concert was probably recorded in full based off the leaked soundboard recording in "It's in Everyone of Us". Why it hasn't been released remains a mystery.

He had some others with Montserrat Caballe, one of which was after this one (though they sang playback in both), one more playback on his own in German television where he performed the great pretender and as far as I've heard, an unexpected performance in front of a crowd in 1982 where he sang Jailhouse Rock. Footage of it exists but Peter Straker, the one who captured it, never intends to release it

@@deeyears3978 Freddie requested no thing. He made several music videos with Queen when his health was in a much worse state. The reason there's no video was due to this song being a charity benefit... they weren't going to spend the money which was supposed to be going to the charity on all the contracts needed to film every individual artist. It was purely to save on expenses.
