I know! That’s exactly the point of that compilation. If I heard that recording, I would think it was from something like notw or jazz tour, but it’s actually from the Magic tour, nearly 10 years later. Same thing with the second one, it sounds a lot like the works tour, right? That shows that the “macho voice” was more intended that what people think. He sounded like that because he wanted to.

@@rickysld freedie's voice was really surprising, even more so on the magic tour, as he was out of nowhere doing a great show (vocally speaking) as in frejus. or he appeared in a very tired voice as in Zurich. and this "male voice" really surprised me to learn that he did it on purpose.

The man had so many great nights in the live environment Between 77(euro races)-82(hot space) is really when he would hit higher 4th octave notes way more consistently. Such a great voice.

I believe that his voice has changed a bit, and it is noticeable in some songs sung live on different tours, in the 70s his voice really sounded younger, but the difference was not so much in Freddie's voice itself, but in wear hers, being a better way to use his voice to sing high notes in full voice and not in falsetto or head voice, at the same time that his voice has changed, Freddie discovered his powerful voice in a deeper tone, not that he can't sing like that, there are many moments in the 80's that Freddie sang in his softest voice

I've already discovered the answers but here's what I guessed: 1. I could've sworn that was a NOTW version so I was shocked to find out it was from the Magic Tour! 2. Thought it was the Works Tour at first but then I recognised it as Oakland. 3. I recognised it. It's Brussels! 4. I thought it was NOTW again but turns out it was Oakland! 5. Knew it was Live Aid. I like how you used the audience recording to make it less obvious! 6. Leiden. I'd recognise that any day. 7. I thought it was Leiden too but I was again wrong. The only good Japan leg in my opinion! 8. Sun City. Was just listening to it earlier so it was fresh in my mind. Definitely do more of these quizzes! I didn't know the macho voice was put on, I thought it was the smoking that did that and then his younger voice came back when he stopped smoking at around '87. I still have a theory though that I don't know if anyone will agree with me on but I still think it's interesting. On the Crazy Tour and the early Game Tour shows, it seemed like his nodules weren't really affecting him anymore and if they were, he knew how to manage it. Then as soon as he started smoking, supposedly around that exact time, they became a problem again. Just compare Bohemian Rhapsody in Oakland to Montreal from just over a month later. Anyone else think that? Just me? Okay...

Actually, I’ve always wanted to make a “Queen live quiz” video where I play a little segment of a live performance and people have to guess what show it’s from, but I didn’t know if I was actually the only person wanting that so I just sneaked this little quiz at the end of a video to see how people reacted lmao

I think it was definitely intentional to add a darker and raspier tone to his voice. Although I remember someone saying (idk who, maybe one of the members) that he smoked to get a raspier/gritty tone. If that's true then he did force the voice but also smoked to help achieve it. But I mean Freddie always had a raspy tone when he belted even in the 70s, so it was always _there_ it just became more intense when he started forcing it more and as his voice got deeper from age. (Tho my theory is that he always had a deep voice but forced it to be high, but in the mid 80s he became more comfortable with it and embraced it plus it helped make his voice more powerful.) ~P.S- I don't know sh*t about music/singing so all the terms I used or knowledge I spouted is prob wrong lol this is all just a theory...A FRED THEORY. Thx for watching darling!
@faultedsixsiege2676
@faultedsixsiege2676 3 жыл бұрын
You're absolutely right. He already had a deep voice in 70s, but only in '78 (on the European leg of the NOTW tour). From '71 to '77 he just sung with his chest/full voice. It's much easier to sing that way even on quite high notes. In studio he also sometimes used it, but more often he used mixed and head voice. If you listen carefully, on the '78 leg of the NOTW tour Freddie lost his voice much faster, than on the '77 one because he purposely sung more aggressively and with a deeper tone. He still sung with his usual voice at some shows. Even in 80s he didn't lose his bright voice. But he didn't get back to it (almost) anymore.

I enjoy Freddie's vocals regardless how he chooses to sing, i.e. like studio or a different version, on any given live performance. But it puzzle's/irritates me that there are some, that are convinced that he was never capable of replicating studio vocals live!

hello you can make a ranking of versions of a kind of magic or someone to love but if it is from the second it is divided into two parts one from the 80s and another from the 70s , The best version of a kind of magic is by far the first Wembley which is Queen's best concert in my opinion and the best of someone to love exceeding the study is Montreal 1981

I honestly can’t tell if you’re kidding or not lmao. Anyways the best version of a kind of magic is by far 1st Leiden: He absolutely nails the song, it’s just as good as the studio version.
