Maybe you did not notice but the back seat in the Envision has the ability to recline. You probably had the back seat all the way forward which is why you felt the front seat was in your face. We put the back seat back and it actually is quite comfortable once you make that adjustment.

Good to know. I did not know that and did not try to recline it. Sometimes when I have a car to review, I just don't have a chance to spend a lot of time sitting or riding in the back.

Kicking motion for the automatic tailgate is more reliable than waving motion. Thanks for the video.

I always have trouble!! I thought it was because the rear doors were open. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for watching. Good to know, I always seem to have trouble with those systems. Is there some thing where it will not work if any of the car doors are open? Seems like it wouldn't work when one of the rear doors was open.

@@FreddySherman Being on the shorter side you might have been standing too close, try waving your foot then backing away.

@@BarryWilkinson Good idea. I should have tested it a bit more before filming the video. I have the problem a lot, maybe that is why, because I am too close and could be hit by the opening tailgate. Thanks for watching and for your comment, please subscribe!

Buick builds this car in China because that is where they sell most of them. They annually sell about 60,000 in the USA, but closer to 500,000 in China. It would not make any sense at all to build the car here and then ship almost all the production to China. If tariffs are put in place then this car won't be offered in the USA and only in China - plain and simple.
@FreddySherman5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment and that makes a lot of sense. But I think it's a bit deceptive to call them Buicks in the US as the name has such a historic, American automotive connection.
@Buc_Stops_Here5 жыл бұрын
@@FreddySherman Perhaps, still designed in Detroit, MI however and some parts come from the USA - just a small percentage. Most come from China and Japan. By that logic, it is a bit deceptive to call Volvo Swedish since they are designed there but the S90 and S60 long edition are made in China as well - and sold in the USA.
@FreddySherman5 жыл бұрын
@@Buc_Stops_Here I agree, it is deceptive for Volvo to do that. Are you from America? If not, you may not know of Buick's reputation here.

@@FreddySherman Yes, I am from the United States. Unfortunately, a number of cars sold here under brands are made in China. More will come soon unless the sanctions hold. The Cadillac CT6 plug-in is also made in China. The Ford Focus that was canceled was to be made in China. We will find out soon if more are to come from there.

@@Buc_Stops_Here I have no problem with it, but I think companies should be more upfront, especially a very American brand like Buick.

do you have fuel economy info ? some say it's not more than the rated 25mpg on hwy, which sucks, and one review from CR said it reached 30mpg on hwy... The Equinox same 2.0L has better hwy mpg rating and also reviewers (but most of them on that model) say it reaches 30pmg on hwy.. so does this one or is it only 25-26mmpg on hwy. it's a deal breaker for me, if can't get up to 28+mpg
@FreddySherman5 жыл бұрын
Hold on, I will check it for you. You need a hybrid!!! I just got a Prius, I get 55 mpg, 55!!!!
@FreddySherman5 жыл бұрын
You can see all the fuel economy details here, it depend on the engine you go with. media.buick.com/media/us/en/buick/vehicles/envision/2019.tab1.html On the highway. 25 mpg (2.0L Turbo), 29 (2.5L FWD) or 27 (2.5L AWD)

I own the 2018 with the six speed automatic and not the nine speed the 2019 has. After 21,000 miles I am averaging 24 in combined driving. This past weekend I drove the length of I-84 in CT for three days going to a swim meet. I averaged on two trips 29.8 mpg on the highway and when stuck in traffic on Friday for the first trip I averaged 25 mpg. So I get close to 30 mpg on the highway - with the 6 speed - on CT highways.

@@Buc_Stops_Here Thanks for this. It helps me keep it on my short list.. if it really can do 24mpg average combined, then it's very much so within the range i want my next vehicle to be. I wonder why the epa rating is so far off on this ? What they have only 25mpg ? They test it at 100m/hr or something ? ha... Anyone else out there getting the same results ? Anyone w/9 speed auto to give real world hwy cruising results ? would be nice to discover some consistancy, before making the deal.. Deal is #2 issue.. these are way over priced from what I can tell and most other professional reviewers are saying.. it's priced more than a Cadillac XT4 and same range as Lexus and Mercedes... so if they won't lower the price by min. $5K or maybe a bit more, It'll get off my short list.

First, thanks for watching the video. I do some of my reviews as one-takes, with no edits. Sometimes I tend to say uh too much since I am just talking off the top of my head with no script. This is from 4 years ago and I think I've definitely improved. Please subscribe to my channel and check out some of my other car reviews to see fewer uh's.
