I wore this last week and love it personally, it's incredibly strong and sweet like you said. Out of my handful of Frédéric malles it's the one I need to be in a specific mood to wear. Great to get your take though 👌

To me this is a great fragrance. I don't feel it as being overly sweet, but it does have one part of sweetness very strongly: the kind that's approaching the sour or the the sort of dry feeling in ones mouth after eating sugar. (The kind of sweetness in Etro's Heliotrope is sort of similar in that it's not obviously sweet to me, but it's also (or rather) quite sharp. Someone said glue about that one.) I think most of the notes, the fruit, the lavender, the patchouli and most everything else pulls the fragrance in one direction for quite a while, this sort of sharp smell. But to me I mostly find the opening invigorating and quite refreshing (some days it's too much, just like with some iris fragrances or some various sweet fragrances), and then after 1½ - 2 hours or so it gets very pleasant and appeasing I'd say. I would say if anything the opening 1 hour or so is just extremely sour and sharp, and if I disliked it I'd say it was too much of sour fruits, but I can totally see how it comes across as too sweet altho I don't really experience that, I get more the "bleachy" reference. If someone were to sniff their arm in the opening 1 hour they might feel like they've sniffed bleach, I can imagine that and I think it doesn't smell awesome in the opening up close, it needs a bit of time. Bleach smells great to me, but you have to be careful not to sniff it for too long. I also think the smell from a distance is quite different from up close, especially in the opening, it's smoother.

Tested a sample from Niemans and I got a ton of sharp Lavender off my skin and it lasted for a while...hella strong. Smelled like pure lavender essential oil, I couldnt tolerate it and had to scrub it off. Have watched a few videos, subbed a few wks back...I enjoy you content and takes.

This comes off as patchouli bomb off my skin. I LOVE THIS ONE for it's uniqueness. 2 sprays max though as you stated, almost beast mode.

I blind purchased a 10 ml, as I discovered I like a good herbal lavender, A Taste of Heaven, is my favorite. I liked your description of the good lavender in it, but then being honest about throwing to much sweet crap in it... They do want to sell perfumes, so a lot of fragrances are appealing to the masses in their appetites for sweet stuff...

Oh wow. I couldn’t disagree more (no disrespect). This to me is DEFinitely not drenched in sugar or caramel to my nose. And definitely not screaming. I usually am right there with you but this one, not so much. If anyone is interested give it a try. To me it’s a very natural lavender and patchouli with a perfectly calibrated pineapple. EDIT: oh! I just saw you now like this! Good to know :)

Could be a skin chemistry thing with you, on my skin it's nearly ALL gorgeous lavender and patch. Only a slight pineapple/caramel undertone. Personally I love it and find myself craving it. About to pull the trigger on a bottle.

The pineapple here is eerily similar to those tarts you find in Chinese bakeries. I kid you not! I had a 4ml sample and I got a similar vibe. One of my sisters loved it tho...l

It is almost identical to older Prada Amber for Women (another Benaim's creation), but with added lavender. There is the same benzoin pineapple and caramel. This explains a lot actually. I prefer Prada Amber to Music for a While

Man, as an owner of this I have to say I agree. Gorgeous lavender and patchouli that are hijacked by pineapple juice. I don’t hate this by any means but I keep tricking myself into wearing it because I want some “lavender”. Nope. This needs to be approached with the mindset of wearing a herbal gourmand. Really weird fragrance

I agree with everything you’ve said here. I hated it the first time I tried it. Right when the pineapple, sugar notes kicked in 40 seconds into the initial spray, the perfume was ruined for me. I thought I liked it one day (after multiple tries) when I thought the sickly sweetness was gone after a couple of minutes but tried it again and hated it. Malle’s worst for sure.
