Thank you for sharing, beautiful footage, I enjoyed watching while staying inside nice and warm. I'm going to look at those boots online for a Christmas present option.

I work solar fields, horrible ground conditions come spring into summer. Muck brand boots are the only reasonable priced tall boots that could withstand the 10-20 miles a day we walk. That’s right now 10-20 miles a day/6 days a week and held up fantastic!
@FrederickDunn2 жыл бұрын
You definitely need durable footwear under those conditions!

Oh my gosh am I glad that I happened upon your video! I'm from WI and I love, love, LOVE winter time. Your video answered a question I had regarding boot quality because my son likes Muck boots, but what I found in your video was SO MUCH more than just that. I love your passion for nature. That buck was amazing! And all of the extra information about the other warm weather gear that you have was so wonderful! Keep doing what you're doing, Frederick! I love it! You just gained yourself a subscriber.

Juncos, chickadees, red polls... The birds of winter. Love them all. I am north of Lake Erie. We tend to call snow buntings "snow birds," but they are more often seen out in open fields, not forests.

Thanks Fred, beautiful snowfall, we don’t get to see much snow down here, but I see deer outside my house daily. I was sitting on my porch last summer and had three does walk up within arms length of me, it’s was a great feeling to be that close to a deer. Again thanks for sharing your slice of paradise with us !

Good morning, Fred. I bought a pair of Muck Wetlands this spring. Took me about 5 years to buck up to the cost. Didn't get a chance to test the warmth of them, Good otherwise. We got 3" of wet glop from this last storm. Looks like you have enough to ski on. Temps in the teens to 20s at night to the 30s and 40s at night, so I will be in my Wetlands. Guess winter is here. Thanks for the facemask tip.

Great video, your patience and cunning as a photographer is inspiring, very few hunters are as tenacious just to get a shot. If you have wild turkey around, you can get the hen clucking call and bring the woods to life in a few minutes, because every creature in the woods knows how cautious a hen turkey is just by nature and I they hear a hen clucking they just relax listen for her clucking, if it changes to a higher shrill pitch they go back on to their guarded status.
@FrederickDunn2 жыл бұрын
I've had more than 25 turkeys walk right past me. Sometimes I run at them for a dramatic video :) I was burried in snow and watching these turkeys, then jumped up and got a slow-motion capture kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqSaeXmtndiAgpY
@carlsledge38682 жыл бұрын
LOL, only you would scare up turkeys feeding in the snow to get the dramatics of them taking flight, still a great video.

OK my great northern beekeeping friend, I need a favor, I would like to pick me out a budget camcorder setup that will do decent youtube videos that can be edited and posted with a fair amount of ease, and in return I'll make you chuckle at how I do bees on a budget, I'm sure you'll know how to fix me up with what I'll need, anyway think about it and any help would be greatly appreciated. Don't need anything that can do hours long videos just a basic setup that can be paused remotely and with decent zoom capabilities.

Thanks Fred! Do you wear the same boots summer and winter, or are the ankle height boots more for summer?

Last 2 pairs of Mucks I bought had the soles coming off in one season. The glue failed around the forefoot area first and the whole sole started to flop off. shoe glue only worked very temporarily. Very disappointed, especially for the cost.

Have bought overpriced muck boots for years but have quit buying them because of their poor quality. As a farmer, I wore them every day. The muck chore boots barely lasted two months before falling apart. The Arctic Pro and Arctic Ice barely lasted 6 months before falling apart. Purchased the Hisea boots at Sam's club for 69.95. After a year of hard use they are finally starting to develop cracks in the rubber. Extremely warm and comfortable

Really wish these more expensive brands were produced in countries like the USA or Europe. I think these days people are far more willing to spend extra on supporting goods produced under fair conditions. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that $180 dollar boots are made in China....
@FrederickDunn2 жыл бұрын
I think they started off being made here, but over the years they moved their production where the labor is cheaper and never dropped their pricing, so we're paying for the name now. Muck makes better boots, but the differences are marginal now.
