Will this suit work good to get a wasp nest out of my bay window from my house? Was thinking about getting into bees as well but my first experience with any suit is now looking like a fight to kill paper wasps sweat bees who have moved into my house. Let me know your thoughts

Thank you for your detailed review ... I bought the Guardian Bee Apparel suit, which is everything you said it is. I would add that their customer service is among the best I've seen ... polite and very helpful at helping pick the correct size.

How do you get the bees off the suit when you are finished? Can the stingers stick into the material?
@FrederickDunn6 ай бұрын
I've never had a problem getting bees off the suit. You can use low pressure air, or a foxtail brush etc... I've never found a stinger in the vented suits, but have found them in the goatskin or leather gloves.

Maybe I missed it but just how well does it protect from stings? I'm allegoric and prefer not to get stung when they get really angry.

They both protect from stings. I haven't received a single sting through either of these suits.

I just sent for a ventilated jacket. I have a regular jacket (unventilated) that I absolutely roast in here in Tennessee on a hot day.I'd like to get a full suit but, at 6'6", just try to find one that fits...lol. Thanks for the vid brother.
@waltertchapman326 жыл бұрын
357lockdown a lean to medium build 6'6" would put you in a 3xl suit with Guardian Bee Apparel. Over approximately a 50" waist and you would possible consider a 4xl... Even then the 3X would probably fit you well.

Hey thanks for the info Terry. I'm a medium build so I'll check into it. Thanks again.

Guardian Vented Jackets remain my first choice. I looked at lots of others at the North American Honey Bee Expo last January, and I found the Guardian quality is still the best in my opinion :)

Very interesting. What drew me to your channel was the torching the Baldfaced hornets. I really,really, really hate stumbling onto yellow Jackets nests! We are retiring in the future and have been doing Verbo rentals to quieter places in the south to experiment and on several occasions while enjoying the woods I’ve seen the Bald faced hornets. (We don’t have them where we live) I’m embarrassed to say the Yellow Jackets scare me but the Bald face hornets are even MORE frightening. I’ve been wondering if it makes sense to acquire a really good Bee suit to keep on hand for when they have to be taken care of. Can you suggest a kind that is Bald face hornet proof? Thank you for your very calm explanations.

What are your thoughts on the flow vented bee suit.

That's a great question, if you watch my FAQ 27 video this Friday, I'll go over those as I think others may also be interested in that information. Thanks for watching!

Frederick Dunn Hello! I am an owner of the flow vented bee suit. I like it a lot, but it’s all I know. I was looking around your videos for your thoughts on the flow vented suit like some here had asked. I watched FAQ 27, I didn’t see the mention of the suit. Any help would be great! Thanks

Only used to bee coverage or we can used to biggest bee this coverage ?
@FrederickDunn4 жыл бұрын
These are for honey bees, but you can wear extra clothing underneath if you are working with longer stingers.

Manufactures go to a lot of trouble to make white suits yet 90% of the veils have a dark screen instead of white. What's with that?
@FrederickDunn3 жыл бұрын
That's intended to cut down on glare.
@Lsmith-ly2cm2 жыл бұрын
Are the Guardian bee veils made of metal screen?
@FrederickDunn2 жыл бұрын
I don't think so, I think it's stiff synthetic fiber. Nothing on the website clarifies the material composition. Not aluminum screen.

What do you wear under the ventilated suit if you’re doing a wasp/hornet removal?
@FrederickDunn2 жыл бұрын
Jeans and a hoodie... but if I'm going to "war" I wear the Natural Apiary Max-Protect suits. Wasps have successfully pushed their thin abdomens into the mesh of the ventilated suits. I discussed a thicker vented version with Guardian Bee Apparel, but they never developed it.
@l.v.i.bushcraftandsurvival66924 ай бұрын
Bee suit companies need to step up their game and make thicker suits to deal with hornets/wasps. I talked with Guardian the other day about this. I think so many bee suit companies are in denial the Giant Japanese Hornets are in the US now, though they have not spread- yet.

What size was the suit for your 5'9 190# body? I'm 5'8 and 184. Looking for good ventilated suit as I have hot flashes from total hysterectomy last year that are harsh.

Great review Fred, thank you. I'm looking at getting one of the guardian apparel vented suits. Now that you have maybe used these for a season, how did you find their abbey style hood vs the fencing? What is your preference now and why? Many thanks in advance for your reply.
@FrederickDunn5 жыл бұрын
Tell them that Fred sent you!!! :) My personal preference is the zippered fencing style veil because I can loaf around and sip coffee - the Abby style has zippers, but it doesn't open the way the fencing style does. This is still my favorite ventilated suit by far!!!
@6Deep65 жыл бұрын
@@FrederickDunn I absolutely will tell them that. The suit looks superb in your detailed review. Many thanks for all your bee related content. As a complete newcomer, I greatly appreciate it.

Are these suits made in the US?
@FrederickDunn2 жыл бұрын
They are an American family/business, regarding specifically where their suits are manufactured, I checked the label in mine and it says Made In Pakistan.
@kevincount6 жыл бұрын
You said you prefer to wear no suit at all. Is there a specific veil that you like?
@FrederickDunn6 жыл бұрын
Yes, the lightest and most useful veil I wear is the one that comes from FlowHive... I wear that most of the time and the veil portion just sets on top of the broad brimmed hat. Very comfortable and I cover it in my first bee-suit comparison video. Unless I'm really going to take a hive apart, I generally don't wear bee suits. Thanks for that question Kevin!

I find the pockets a nuisance especially with gloves on - i have a similar suit as ur ventilated but with the hat ( buckfast ?style) and without the huge leg zipper When its really hot i just wear my underwear under my ventilated suit -
@FrederickDunn6 жыл бұрын
That's interesting Missy, I actually want more "custom" pockets on my suits :) As for wearing just underwear beneath the ventilated suit... well... they are somewhat see-through... I'd think you'd want more pockets in that case!
