You should see Downtown in the summer!! This was a cold dreary day. I work off Caroline street and its August 2022 and there are TONS of people out and about. I swear this town is way prettier than this video!!. The bridge is now finished and so is the park. We need a redo!!!!

At this Christmas season, when the good fairies are in the air, we can hardly wonder at the sudden miracle .that has shown us the Fredericksburg affair in its true light .and given us occasion for national joy instead of national sorrow.

Fredericksburg Virginia is the worse place I have ever lived. The traffic is a nightmare here along with loud drag racing up and down route 3 all night long. The majority of people here are rude and disrespectful. Things have really gotten worse since we moved here in 2005. Time to get the hell out before it gets worse..

Wow, really?! Yikes. And I was considering the area. I definitely cannot do rudeness, it's Half of why I'm leaving my current area. Noise, I can manage.

The surrounding suburbs are the nice place. but yeah east of 95 has worse traffic than even some of the bigger cities in Virginia.

Fredericksburg is basically the new Woodbridge.
@jgator66943 жыл бұрын
Hardly. Woodbridge has no downtown 40 block historic downtown with bike paths, coffee shops and home grown restaurants. No comparison.
@jgator66943 жыл бұрын
Beautiful 40 block historic districts, LOTS of awesome, homegrown restaurants, coffee shops and bars, a gorgeous college campus, swimming, kayaking in a gorgeous river that runs through downtown, bike paths everywhere, awesome farmers market in our downtown gorgeous park, events and concerts, gorgeous architecture, friendly people, train station with access to Charlottesville, Richmond or DC. 30 min drive to beaches of eastern shore. And 5 minutes to every store and restaurant imaginable in Central Park and town center. You can walk anywhere. Woodbridge is a giant suburb - you need a car to go anywhere and anywhere in Woodbridge is a bunch of ugly strip malls
@JhonnyBoi3 жыл бұрын
@@jgator6694 lol you speak of Fredericksburg like it’s some gem. It’s just another suburb like Woodbridge.
@jgator66943 жыл бұрын
@@JhonnyBoi sorry it is not “just another suburb”. Woodbridge used to be woods. It was developed with houses and strip malls. Period. Fredericksburg is a HISTORIC CITY that was established in 1728. Some of the buildings in the city are that old. The city of Fredericksburg has suburbs...some may be similar to Woodbridge. But the CITY itself is what I am speaking of. It is a 40 block downtown and could be compared to downtown Charlottesville, or downtown Winchester or such. There is NOTHING in Woodbridge that is comparable. Maybe you have never been to downtown Fredericksburg which is why you speak without knowledge.

As a Virginia resident Fredericksburg is no place to visit in my opinion yes it has history but it is in the middle of the shittiest part of town near the beach!! You’re better off just going to Jamestown! Or if you’re smart you’ll just head to the mountains where it’s beautiful and you don’t have to worry about people robbing you like you do in Fredericksburg!! And I know because I’m a Virginia resident for my whole life even though I’ve been all over the country working!!!

The rebels to the British ...It's difficult to believe that during the years of slavery. People they lived here colonized by the British, yet their was a war on the east coast in towns just like these. A war against the British which would make them sort of rebels to the common lifestyle here. They had a war around Fredericksburg can you imagine it looking down the street. I have to go through alot of information to piece it together houses, people, landmarks, colonization, Army, slavery, everyday life. WOW !!
@ColonizerChan Жыл бұрын
Tbh the battle of Fredericksburg leveled most of the city, and what wasn't nailed down was looted by soldiers from the union mainly. Layout is the same. But if you look at old photos, whole place was leveled. There is a small building at the end of William St. That might be period correct but idk tbh
