We're so excited as we just got our first hive for free from a tree company that cut a dead tree down with a hive in it ❤️🐝❤️. The queen passed later on from the tree falling but we have 4 queen cells 2 already hatched and things are looking great!!!!

Oh that's awesome! They will make news queens pretty easy, so long as they still have eggs or very very small larve.

Hi. Todd. I hope this year you get some honey. Why didn't you try having it on the ground. God Bless you. Your bees are in Gods hand now. Be safe. 💁🖐️💁🖐️💁🖐️💁🖐️💁🖐️💁🖐️👍👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷The flowers are for Rachel. Take good care of yourselves. Maria.

For bait hives like this, you totally could just keep it on the ground. Overtime people realized bees like to look for new homes up a little higher though, so that's why they're in trees.

Around here in Bethlehem, Pa. A sign of spring is when you see a robin in your yard or somewhere. I seen my first one yesterday.

Oh my gosh! My heart skipped a beat when you nearly fell off the ladder. Lucky you didn’t hurt yourself. Looking forward to the post winter bee wrap up. They are such fascinating creatures. We have some really cool ones here with iridescent blue/green stripes.

I just got my swarm trap. I’ll need to find a good spot for it. We still have snow here in the UP but it’s raining today so it should be gone fast. Thanks for sharing. ☮️-Kirsten

I think you would have better luck with one frame of old comb and the rest just empty frames. Also they don’t have to be that high. Hope you can catch all you can handle.

An ignorant question, I’m sure, but could you technically leave the bees in the swarm traps?
@1870s3 жыл бұрын
I do leave them in there for a few weeks normally - and then move them into a normal hive. Could leave them in there long term - I guess you could. But they would pretty quickly outgrow the space and may just cast off another swarm.
