Right? I keep seeing videos of new features in Adobe and people going through hours and hours of tutorials and I can't help to think that they maybe have another 4 or 5 years before crushing... A lot of new free movie editing softwares are taking this space. Last announcement Adobe did on the new premiere features was a joke since a free basic software like Capcut that a teenager can use on their phone could do half of the stuff years ago faster, easier and lighter...

My xml file doesn't come out as an xml file but an internet link so when i bring it into adobe premiere pro its like highlighted in green and looks like a nested sequence(?) or something. Any advice on how I can get it to an xml file so its not 'destructive.'?

It works as I expected, although it's not good. See, it only works if the video contains the audio that you'd like to cut. In my case, I record gaming videos using Nvidia Shadowplay, while I record my audio using Audacity. This plugin basically wants me to combine both 2 hours long footage and audio recording, export them, which takes a lot of space and time. Not only that, after I went through the whole autocutting process, when I imported the XML into Premiere Pro, the cuts were way off so I had to do it manually again.

FOR ANYONE USING SILENCE REMOVER: u have to click prepare audio which will open a MINIMIZED window (so go to ur taskbar and click it) where it will export the audio of ur sequence, then u load that audio where it says choose file, thats how it knows what audio to analyze for the auto editing. it looks like the maker of this video didnt do that and thats (i think) why his didnt work thanks for the video just figured id share in case someone else hasnt yet

Thanks TroubleChut, big help! For anyone who needs to sync a separate audio track first, the best solution I've come up with is to sync them then render out a lossless (or close to lossless) intermediate (e.g. ProRes) then run that through auto-editor. It would be cool if someone figured out a way to edit the XML directly to replace the audio track with the new audio, but I guess you'd still have issues with it being lined up properly.

I think I may have found a solution for this that doesn't require an intermediary. Essentially, running the auto-editor on both the the video and the new audio to create two separate XMLs, then combining in a new sequence in premiere. They might not line up perfectly, as the replacement audio is different it may cut the silences differently, but it's a great start and still saves a bunch of time for large projects.

I've been using this, definitely the best silence remover I've used. one problem or option missing is... My work involves multiple clips like clip 1 clip 2 and so on. Wish there was an option to scan a folder and just remove silence for all the clips at once. Like a batch silence remover for multiple clips in a single go. Right now i have to manually do the command for each clip.

you can easily write a script to find all files with a certain extension in a folder and run the script for each file. in fact I would just ask chatGPT it will probably spit out exactly what you need

If you want them all in 1 premiere sequence anyway, you could try importing all your clips into a premiere sequence then rendering out a lossless (or nearly lossless) intermediate video (e.g. ProRes) then running that through auto-edit.

I saw default bitrate was 10m , the information appear on -- help . But the output was about 2000 kbps and quality video is very low (looks pixelate) and video size become 1/6 from original , after several trial and then I used command : --auto-editor "yourvideo.mp4" --margin 0.2secs --video-bitrate 10000000 , now quality video & bitrate nearly same as original, video size is 2/3 original but seems no reduction happened . note : this is suitable for you who dont using video editor (premiere pro, davinci, etc)

I can't find a software like that for auto editing sequence I have multiple camera, multiple mic, in this workflow you can't just cut one files and be ready to edit Its really lacking

Unfortunately. AutoCut only supports one audio track, same goes for the other ones too afaik. You could export the entire sequence and use that to "detect silence" on the timeline, using that Silence Remover plugin

I know this works for cutting already edited videos for further editing... but never for shortening. Tried it. Takes forever, and results are incredibly lackluster, almost pointless for unedited video. Just applied random cut points to my video.
