you need an Auxillary battery mate, that sound system and all those devices charging will kill both your alternator and battery... suprised the sound guys didnt suggest a bigger alternator or battery.... hope you sort it out bruv.

Louis: When you first put the awesome stereo in, I thought to myself that I hope the electrical/charging system of the van is upgraded. If you want to be able to charge stuff like that, you should look into fitting an uprated/higher output alternator, and maybe an additional battery.

I want a wonder van! My first car was a 68 vw bug and I can't tell you how many times me and my friends had to push it to start. I had to keep a wire brush in the car to clean the battery terminals often. I miss that beautiful car!

When oxygen and gasoline explode inside a cylinder of the Wander Bug engine forcing the piston up, and the connected crankshaft to rotate. Then the turning of the crankshaft causes the pulleys to turn, causing the drive belts to then turn all the pulleys, giving you a running engine. But then, what happens to the super hot gasses from the combusted fuel/oxygen explosion in each cylinder?!? The next piston stroke (exhaust stroke after ignition stroke) pushes the super hot exhaust gas into tubes from each cylinder (exhaust manifold) where they combine into the one exhaust pipe. The exhaust is filtered by the catalytic converter (cleans pollutants) halfway down the exhaust pipe, then The exhaust gets pushed out of the pipe at the end. All manifolds & exhaust pipes get so, so hot, anything flammable touching them will ignite. It's the #1 cause of car fires. But apparently, old VW Busses have an insulating cover to keep fires from starting from the always hot exhaust manifold being next to a flammable engine part (old, dangerous engineering). This isn't Louie's fault. The guy who sold the Bus to him should have replaced that insulating cover as a typical, regular, Bus maintenance. That's why it's so important to get an old vehicle thoroughly checked out first before hitting the road. Glad it's now vetted by an expert, it all worked out, and the van didn't go up in flames or God forbid get anybody seriously hurt. Now, Louis & everybody can celebrate this classic vehicle and the coming adventures!
