Free camping in Romania | Is it safe and legal to camp in Romania? | Romania travel vlog

We spent over two months in Romania and we free camped in our campervan almost every night. From beaches to parking lots to beautiful spots in the wild. We found the most amazing places where we swam, had campfires, stargazed and saw bears. Camping in Romania has been one of the best experiences of our lives. And for the most part it's been completely free. We only paid for campsites when we needed to get water, empty our toilet and have showers.

We stayed here several nights and had a great time but on our last night, we had someone (maybe a local, maybe another campervanner) keep knocking on our door trying to join him for drinks. We quickly left. But that was after several great nights in this spot. We also found the carpark at the mall Shopping City a great place to park.

Hello beautiful people and thank you so much for the amazing video!We re planing to go with bicycle trough Transylvania mainly trough mountains and to use free camp,but we only have tent ,so im wondering is it safe to free camp in just a tent couse of the bears?did you see any or had any info on that?it woild be vary useful! tnx in advance and wish you great adventures...

Transylvania is an amazing area to travel around you will love it. Lots of beautiful places on the side of the road to stop and have a fire/sleep. At a free campsite in Transylvania we had a family of bears about 30m from the back of the van pushing over a rubbish bin to get food and there were people in tents next to us. They put up a string fence with beer cans hanging from it but unsure if that was for the bears. Honestly though I know very little about bears and how to stay safe from them.
