Other good ones. Forth football oval- on the river Deloraine-on the river Evandale Sulphur creek, overlooking bass straight Berry patch camp ground. ....... in fact, virtually every small town has a free or cheap campsite, quite often at the sports ground like a couple you mentioned.

Hey great vid guys… lots of cool places but one you missed was Bruny Island!… you won’t find a platypus there but you’ll see white wallabies, penguins and lots of bird life, there is a caravan park but also a lot of free camping… a must see spot on your next time over

We loved Lake Lea near cradle mountain. Absolutely stunning and free! Mt field np campground was awesome too for low cost with hot showers and washing machine. We too like a few of those places you mentioned too.

@@hapninemptynesters yes there were so many amazing places to stay. We also loved that farm up behind Penguin as we explored the mining tunnels in the reserve in the valley just down from the farm.

Ahhh you missed a Platypus. It looked like there was a lot more water when we were at Lake Gairdiner which I think might be why we got to see them there. You have me frothing to go back to Tassie and cockle creek for sure was my favourite, miss you legends.

We are still in Tassie. Extended our stay till late August now. Going to experience winter. 😱😂 8 months for us. We have just stayed at River's Edge Wildersness camp. It was by far the best camp we have stayed. We didn't mind paying the $32 for a premium rivers Edge campspot. Magical. Like you guys we have done freecamps, donation & cheap camps. Only 4 caravan parks in 5 months. So much choice. Agree with you about Luina, the area we stayed still had the gardens & the creek was right behind us. Policemans Point freecamp was another favourite of ours & Waterhouse conservation are Village Green freecamp was stunning too. Douglas River on private Land, untouched & magical. We are at Geeveston RSL camp on the creek at present. Hoping the clouds clear for the aurora expected over the weekend. Off to Cockle Creek on Monday. Might get lucky with the aurora there too. Thanks for the recommendations. Stayed at a few you suggested, but we have a dog & can't stay at some. But as you say, soo many to choose from. Safe travels. Loved your video as always.

Oh wow Sue, you have mentioned so many we didn’t even know about! Tassie is just AMAZING! But winter 🥶, I am looking forward to see how it is. Enjoy Cockle Creek! Hope you get some beautiful weather!

Thankyou. There are soo many. You need to do a 6 month trip. LOL. We reckon it's alot cheaper to just stay in tassie. 😜😆 And to make you feel better, we haven't spotted a platypus either after 5 months. Think they are all hiding. 😜

Just love this style of video. You certainly found some amazing free camps to stay at in Tassie. I wonder how we'd go leaving our camper unattended in some of these spots...its not quite as secure as a caravan.

Thanks, we have adopted Svedo’s’ name for this style of video - Talking Heads. I wouldn’t leave any valuables in it but we had absolutely no issues with safety. It was actually one state we felt super safe.

Planning to spend 3 weeks travelling Tassie in a van - what are your recommendations for not to miss places. Was it hard getting free or low cost sites we will be there during November. It’s our first time there. We do not have boats/ kayaks etc. just want to see some sites and history thanks
@hapninemptynesters
@hapninemptynesters 6 ай бұрын
Oh my goodness that is such a hard question, we loved Tassie so much but lots of sites really depend on the weather! Gordon and cockle creek are amazing in good weather! We loved the highlands so Bronte lagoon and free camp down from Derwent bridge (king William lake) are musts for us. Bay of fires is beautiful and worth the hype but try to head there mid week. Another fantastic spot is Pyengana, cheap donation camp but heaps of day trips from there. You should miss the school holidays so it should be pretty good to find camps. Enjoy!
