The water source that is shown in the drainage system and that used in the gadget is way different. The water flow pressure used to generate the electricity is at least ten times more than what was shown at the beginning. Look at the force with which water is exiting from the dynamo/generator. This is unfair. One must not use such trick!
@vinnybyrne093 жыл бұрын
@@manojkmondal Yeah the reason the water flow pressure is higher is because the vertical distance from collection to the generator. This distance is known as "Head" and the greater the head the more pressure you will get. The longer the drainage system is the more pressure you will receive at the generator. Though there would not be enough water flow to power much more than shown on the video so a power station is out of the question.
@manojkmondal3 жыл бұрын
@@vinnybyrne09 Length of drainage system does not add water head neither the length of the pipe. Even in the context of a hilly area, a drain will not give a large head. It is possible only if you connect a pipe from a height above the point of the release valve. The force with which water is exuding in your experiment indicates that a pipe is connected to an overhead tank that is elevated by about 50 ft above the ground. In that event, you will generate much less electricity than what you have spent to pump the water up into the tank. The drain-water is definitely not the source. Surprised, you tried to substantiate a lie. Keep fooling people and enjoy.
@vinnybyrne093 жыл бұрын
@@manojkmondal The vertical distance in this video would be enough to create that amount of pressure. You're right the length of the drainage wouldn't matter and the friction from the pipe would make it worse but I think this video is legit.

Your house will pump the water through the pipes, so you're using electricity to do so. You will lose electricity through inefficiencies in pumping harder for the little electricity you take out of the system. It's like turning on a fan to generate wind for a wind turbine, it's not going to create more than what you put in, and you will lose electricity this way.

@@HSFY2012 The point is not to waste water to gain power, but to harvest power when using water. Let's say your heating is powered by radiators, when in use there is a constant of water flowing through, that current can be harvested as power. Same when you take a shower, water the lawn and plants, do the dishes and so on. "All" it takes is to have turbines installed as part of the pipes to all water outlets. This is of course not something you just do, as it would take some propper equipment and a power storage unit in your house. the hose diameter is wasting all the power, you need to work with a higher diameter, then at the turbine input you just use an adapter to match diameter.
@AngelLestat24 жыл бұрын
@Loli4lyf yeah, something like that, the pressure is given by the height difference and by water friction against the hose, increasing the hose diameter reduce the pressure lost by friction, then its turbine connection requires less diameter, that is the only reason why he needs to reduce the diameter at the end. If you have a small length (section) with lower diameter, the lost in pressure is minimum, the water flow would stay constant increasing the speed in that section. The amount of flow would increase, so he would need to be sure to not suck air in its stream source.
@raisagorbachov4 жыл бұрын
But if you go for a bigger diameter hose then you're immediately increasing cost. A few sections of PVC guttering could direct the water on a lesser slope and lead to a big plastic barrel with a turbine connected to the hose connector on the bottom. That would increase your head of water (water pressure). That would allow several turbines to be connected in series with the power generated collected in parallel for higher amperage.
@AngelLestat24 жыл бұрын
@@raisagorbachov just increasing a bit the diameter, its power output could be multiply by a lot. In fact, with his diameter, he can keep increasing the height, that its power output would stay the same. Because he is wasting all in friction. According to Poiseuille's law, the flow rate through a length of pipe varies with the fourth power of the radius of the pipe. Volume flow rate = (π * pressure difference * pipe radius^4 ) / ( 8 * viscosity * pipe length) So few mm extra of hose radius cost nothing, because the hose cost is more related to the surface (square), also the hose cost is

@AngelLestat24 жыл бұрын
@@raisagorbachov there is an incredible variety of hoses because they are used for irrigation, something that everyone needs at different scales. Just make a quick search on the shops and you would know, even in africa. For hose garden the common sizes are (in inches) 1/2, 3/4, 1. Then for automatic irrigation (black hoses) you have 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1-1/4, 1-1/2, 2, etc... The hose in the video seems 1/2 or less. By the way, if someone can get those micro hydro turbines, then it is a clear example that he does not live in a cave (in fact I never see those turbines in my life), so getting a hose would not be a problem.

There are loads for sale, I've just been looking at one on Fleabay that claims to deliver 10W if the water pressure is 1.2MPa. Any powerbank will have its charge capacity (ampere hours, Ah) marked onto it. Let's, as an example, think that we have a powerbank marked "15 Ah". In the video, we can see that they got about 20 volt (V) out of their setup (3:03). Further, the power of the generator is 10 watt (W) (www.amazon.com/wonofa-Generator-Turbine-hydroelectric-Portable/dp/B07JY62J3B ). This gives us: the output current of the generator to the powerbank will be 10W/20V = 0.5 A, and the powerbank will be fully charged in 15Ah/0.5A = 30 hours. Hope this helps! 🙌
