Thank you for sharing. I think what some of the people below are forgetting; is that we take the POWER GRID for granted. There are many THREATS to our power grid. What if we lose it for an extended period of time ?? Many people will remember what you have taught them; when they need it the most. You are a good man. I love the way you ended your video. We need more people like you.

It's good to see someone that can look outside the box and take back their personal power and have the knowledge that things like making electricity isn't beyond their reach, or that can show that we are not at the mercy of a company for a little bit of light.

very good find! pwede kayo gumamit ng isang 12v motor para paandarin yung ceiling fan powered by a small motorcycle battery tapos syempre yung power na nagawa ng ceiling fan pwede ng icharge yung battery para continous operation at yung excess sa mga 12v electronics na. syempre may regulator para iwas busted o sunog. dapat oiled yung bearings so less friction para maximized yung output.

ok, guys stop all the backlash, I get what he means. If you were to have this as a back up when there is a blackout or under emergency conditions, you would use this. Your batteries will run down but your body should last a lot longer. Yes, we know nothing is really ever free unless you find it on the street or in the trash, but Salis idea is the running cost is free. I love this idea and have made one out of old junk I found, this will make good use of as a backup plan.

If your area is not windy, a water wheel can rotate the motor, but must modify and must also have a multiplier gear box to rotate the motor faster then save all the power in a big battery suitable for the energy it produce.

Hey, great idea. Though I was thinking about an energy free fan. What if we install a magnet using screws and pallets and use a motor to the other magnet which is facing the same pole to the one which is installed on the fan? Wouldn't it be more convenient? Keep up the good work!

Sir Salis, , Maybe that Low cost ceiling fan is something like a "Synchronous Motor". Indeed it will generate a potential difference across its terminals once the rotor is rotated. Same principle in Wind Turbine since it is a Synchronous motor it will generate power once enough rate of air hits the turbine blades. I admire you just transfer the energy from your body to the bike going to the ceiling fan and finally to the bulb... Thumbs. Up. Keep going for further improvement. Franz. from Cebu.

Found the fan and it's expensive around 30 dollars and you said in the Philippines its only cost around 1.60 dollars? is it because of tax? found no manufacture name on it. having this idea maybe someone already creates a self-power fan since the fan only used around 60w but the fan blade rotation can produce around 220w of electricity, has someone already see this model? let me know and tell me the manufacturing brand name here.
