it can be used for randomly taking out samples from the whole sheet I think it would mostly be used by CA (auditors) as they have to check whether the infomation provided by client is correct or not

It is used for generating Random Numbers It is used by Auditors for sampling purpose For example suppose one client has 10000 sales invoices in a year But A CA will not Audit all the sales invoice He will Audit them on sample basis by using these formula to generate random number of invoice Also companies when they have to give coupons ❤️gift vouchers to random customers they use these formula

for any confusion in the formula =round(605.55,2) refer this Given the number 605.55 and the instruction to round to the nearest multiple of 100 (because of the "-2" specified): Identify the digit position to which we're rounding. In this case, it's the hundreds place because of the "-2". Look at the digit in the hundreds place. In 605.55, the digit in the hundreds place is 0. Look at the digit to the right of the hundreds place. In 605.55, the digit to the right of the hundreds place is 5. If the digit to the right of the rounding position is 5 or greater, we round up; otherwise, we round down. Since the digit to the right of the hundreds place is 5, we round up. So, 605.55 rounded to the nearest multiple of 100 is 600.

The ROUND function in Excel follows the rounding rules based on the number of decimal places specified as the second argument. When the decimal place argument is negative, Excel rounds the number to the left of the decimal point. In this case, with ROUND(550.55, -2), we want to round the number 550.55 to the nearest hundred. Since the decimal place argument is -2, we want to round to the left of the decimal point, specifically to the nearest hundred. To perform this rounding, Excel considers the digit at the hundredth place, which is 5. According to the rounding rules, when the digit at the rounding position is 5 or greater, it rounds up. Since 5 is greater than 4, the number is rounded up to the nearest hundred, resulting in 600. Therefore, the result of ROUND(550.55, -2) in Excel is 600.

The answer or result for not equal to Tom is not the same as yours which is 200. Its showing 1100 instead. Thank you thank you so much in advance

Hi IT Giants! Yes, it is. I found a workaround for your question from this website: www.techonthenet.com/excel/formulas/rand.php Here's the general formula to obtain a random number with decimals using a specified range: =RAND() * (max - min) + min And here's the formula that answers your problem: =RAND() * (5 - 1) + 1 You may adjust the decimal formatting based on your needs.
