Ive never really tried to make a beat like this where I was using ambient sounds and shi, but i always wanted to try because I love how well these types of beats blend together in the mix. I made it a focal point to do things to make nothing really "stand out" in the mix. Initially with this beat, I was going for a Joey Bada$$ x 2000 type beat, but the piano prominence and non-boom bap-drums. @@stubbledspace3982 depends on the beat… yesterdays Kendrick beat took like 3 hours, the Tyler one from the day before took like 6-7 hours. Usually takes like 3-4 tho but it depends on things like if I’m doing a beat switch, if I’m chopping samples, extended outros… it really varries
