I'm 74 years young, gardened all of my life, but have never enjoyed gardening as much as I do now. Since getting all of the awesome ideas from watching all of your videos, I now ENJOY weeding my front yard (gasp) because I keep saying, "OH! Just LOOK at all this future soil!" In my garden, due to our constant high winds, instead of using chairs for my tote heights, I use cement cinder blocks. I'm up to 81 totes- several were free or thrift store cheapies. I'm on my 3rd year of tote/bucket/pot gardening and have just lost 2 totes. I dropped a steel t-post kabonger on one. And fell across the 2nd one. Ha Thank you SO much, young Lady for such great videos.

I also want to use cinder blocks. How did you set them up?
@vickiparrish3235
@vickiparrish3235 5 ай бұрын
One laid down for the bottom of each tote with the length of the tote across the length of the block because you'll put 2 stacked blocks on each side of the tote. You'll only use half of each double stacked side blocks for support as you'll put another tote on each side of those 2 stacked high blocks. So each tote uses only 1 block to sit on for height. 1/2 of each 2 stacked high on both sides.

I've also used sheer curtains from resale stores, in light or darker colors, depending upon how much shade is needed, and I clip them on with the D.Tree metal clips, which are easily painted with nail polish if I need the black clips to match something. Sometimes I've found perfect sheer fabric (remnants) at W.mart, which works just as well and definitely helps to keep the bugs from devouring my plants. Adding some shade can make ALL the difference between plants surviving or not.

I love watching your videos and often the comments are helpful as well. I just wish that after reading the replies to a comment that going back didn't put me back to the top of the comment list again. I don't know why KZbin made that change; it's really inconvenient when there are many comments to read. 😢
