The "freebies" situation has arisen again and again. Surely the time has come for these "free donations" to stop entirely ? MPs are taking enough of a salary, plus expenses on two homes, to provide their own "quiet spaces for children to study", to buy their own tickets for whatever they choose to go see, they don't need "designer clothing". If regular earners can find the money for stadium tickets to see their football teams or their favourite groups, can buy their own clothes, pay their own utility bills then so can MPs earning upwards of £92k. They are not celebrities but are elected by the people to work for the people so unless this stops, there will always be the stink of corruption rising from the HofP and will prove, beyond any lingering doubt, that MPs are morally bankrupt and out of touch with reality.
