just noticed that. after listening to it, i see where you're coming from with the similarity of the initial plucked chord. you're right, if you lower the beat by 5 semitones, you'll hear some resemblance. also, i was thinking of adding heavy drums in the first verse, but wanted to try having just the hi-hat build with the bass before the chorus hit. i could have added some cool syncopated guitar countermelodies as a layer or made the rhythm more complex, but decided to stick with the final result. i used facgce tuning and a capo on the 7th fret. i wonder if brand new tuned their guitars the same or differently
