Great recommendations! Also thank you for the consistently good editing to keep up the pattern photos in a split screen while you are talking about them. I have noticed that many other knitting KZbinrs do not do this as well or as long as you do, and I really appreciate this as a regular viewer 😊.

Some great patterns in this video! Thanks!! I've knit one of the purl soho cloths and need to make more. So useful. And I love my thick socks. I used Summer Lee's Thicksgiving/mas patterns (paid), but I'm living in them right now. 2 x fingering on 3.5mm needles does knit up really fast.

Love that you included the balaclava from THINNNG, amazing Korean KZbinr and knitwear designer 😊 she makes really cute designs. I’ve seen ppl make her balaclava, I should too. Thanks for including this, I didn’t know there was a free pattern 😅

I love your taste so when you do these videos, I always find something stylish to add to my list of future makes that I may have never come across on my own. Always thoughtful and well explained. Great for our "knitting needs" 😊

Love this! I made the Purl Soho washcloths as a gift over the summer and they’re a super fun way to play with color combos I might not normally have put together. Definitely going to check out that cabled cowl, I know my mom loves cables but I am not up for making her a whole cabled sweater just yet 😅

The line about "knitting needs" made me giggle for some reasons 😊 thank you so much for the video! Idea for future: a round up of free patterns to try or practice colorwork. I recently knitted "Pixelated Pullover", it's a free pattern on Ravelry, really fun, engaging and easy to follow (and it was my first sweater too!)

Thank you! I’ve been more drawn to colorwork this season than ever before, so I may plan for this!

I was just looking at that one. You liked it?
@SandExperiment11 ай бұрын
@@heidikarpa2278 yes, very much! I wanted to knit it in chonkier yarn and I had no trouble modifying the pattern for my gauge. I made it a bit shorter too, I thought it's a bit too long on the model and will look awkward on my body type. The colorwork was satisfying and I really like the result!

Great picks! The balaclava is one I would actually wear for the exact reasons you mentioned. Also, yes yes I do have a few very special big buttons ;) Do you know what pattern the picture of the socks you put up in the picture are? Thanks for sharing ;) Your yarny friend, also from Ontario ;) Sunshine

What do we think of balaclavas? I’m torn between loving them (esp this pattern) and being very unsure about wearing them.
@SquintyBubbles11 ай бұрын
I was born in and grew up in Ulster. I usually give them a swerve 😂😂😂 They are so stylish.

I like the look but think of them more as a functional item than a styling piece!

Are you sure that's a balaclava, not a hood? Balaclavas are generally a light knit garment with only an opening for the eyes and sometimes mouth, and usually meant as an undergarment to protect the face. It's close-fitting to protect from the wind.
@highfiberknits11 ай бұрын
It’s totally possible you could categorize it that way! I communicate the patterns as their titles are written on Ravelry usually, but your explanation makes sense to me!

Do you know if you have to pay duty on yarn ordered from Purlsoho shipped to Ontario?
@highfiberknits11 ай бұрын
Great question! It’s possible that you only need to pay above a certain threshold…usually 100CAD, but there are also calculators you can find online to help estimate this.
