The classification system and the Ghs system is informative indicating the warnings of a product & the supplier information is something that should have the information of where the product came from and what it contains . The pictograms also have to be labeled , everything is very well explained !!

These tutorials are a tool for the employer to use when training their employees. Your idea of adding a test is a great idea. Only employees exposed to hazardous chemicals must be trained, so office personnel may not be covered if they never work with or go into areas where they are used.

OSHA actually does not have a documentation requirement for this particular training standard.

Two things.... 1)If it's not documented, it's not done. 2) I question the organization that uses a public posting forum to document their emplolyee training which clearly some company has done. "Watched video x/x/16"

Does this need to be used on "unwanted (used) chemicals" which will be later transferred to a Satellite Accumulation Area (SAA) before being shipped out (DOT)? In other words, are these labels needed for laboratory or temporary waste containers on-site? If so, that would be difficult, because waste containers will contain several or many different products in the same container.

Not a bad into to the topic. One thing that isn't addressed is the fact that NFPA & HMIS in plant labeling doesn't comform to HAZCOM 2012. In house containers can be labelled with HMIS or NFPA labels if you also add the product identifier.

As long as they don't conflict or cause confusion. Neither NFPA nor HMIS adequately address chronic hazards. For example, if you compare the labels for methylene chloride only the GHS will communicate the cancer hazard.
