I just put my current project in the naughty corner to think about what it's done, and am relaxing with a wine watching this tutorial. Soooooo relaxing!!! I have made one of these already and it was a hit, my MIL wants me to make her one so I'm getting inspired. Thank you Jess, I LOVE your tutorials.
@sharonvonsee3164 Жыл бұрын
My third rendition of this bag is in the naughty corner now. Apparently I cut the zipper a quarter inch too long, and the tab along with the thickness of the interfacing won’t go through my domestic machine. I may have to pull out the seam ripper and go back a few steps.

What is the purpose of bending the zipper ends at right angles?

You could also do a double sided strap (one side vinyl other side cotton) if you still want the vinyl look! Saves major on bulk and looks great!
@ginnylee9928 Жыл бұрын
You can also switch out the cotton side to use grosgrain ribbon instead.

How exactly do you do that? Also I only have 1" D-rings can I use that and make the strap a 1/4' wider? Thank you.

Another great tutorial! Thank you! I was almost shouting that you'd forgotten to open your interior pocket zip but in the end I'm glad you didn't hear me because you showed how to fix that should anyone else make the same mistake. It's not fatal. I just want to add that you and Sara Lawson of SewSweetness have my favorite tutorials. You have great camera angles and thoroughly explain everything in a way that I can completely understand. Although, you always make me laugh. Love that! Thank you for sharing your time and talent! It is much appreciated.

Love the bag and the tutorial. I have not used Decovil Light so that was very helpful for me. Also installing the top zip was a new technique and was very clear. The tip on opening the forgotten zip just magic as I know most bag makers have done this at least once. I have a tip that I learned from More Me Know that has worked really well for me especially for a bigger bag. For the final assembly. Leave the bottom lining open and the interior zip pocket bottom open. Birth the bag the through the bottom of the lining opening. Then pull the lining through the interior zip pocket bottom and stitch the bottom lining closed right sides together. Place your lining back through the zip pocket opening now pull the zip pocket bottom through and sew together as shown in your video. I found this method much easier because the bottom lining opening is so much bigger that the zip opening.
