Sorry but what is the difference between blind test free and paid? You didn't say whereas you did with the first plugin.
@LanewoodStudios23 күн бұрын
With the free version you can only compare 3 tracks. With the paid versus that limitation is gone.

Spitfire Audio's Air Studio reverb plugin, money well spent. It puts the instruments in the room. I am a reverb freak, and this made my Cinematic Rooms and EW Spaces II redundant. Well worth a review if anything.

Thanks for that tip. I love reverb myself but this particular series is about FREE plugins which the Spiftire reverb is definitely not. May still have a look though.

Blind Test is great, have been using it for several years...nothing else like it out there as you say. Very useful, often use it for comparing mix or master versions. Project Time less so, unless you remember to tell it you've stopped working...the full version obviously solves this with its intelligent sensors but not sure it's worth it?

Haven’t tried the paid version of Project Time either yet, but blind test is great yes.

Seems to be great the Blind Test. And very good that it has loudness compensation included.

50 euros for the time plugin is just outrageous. There's limits where a dev can just go and get effed, and this is one of them. Such greed for something so simple.
@LanewoodStudios23 күн бұрын
I can see how you feel that way. It is a pretty unique plugin though and if a business really needs the paid features …

@@LanewoodStudios I see your point. My view, overall, is that there's a few devs, not many, but a few that are totally stuck in the past with pretty much insane pricing. I think Hofa in general is one of these developers. 130 Euro for a spectrum analyser? It's ludicrous. Where I can say something seems worth the asking price of 130 Euro is the EQ. That seems to make sense. But most of their stuff is just so OTT priced. I mean 80 euros INTRO price for a delay. Seriously. That's nearly 150 AUD for me. Sure, there are other devs with similar prices as Hofa, but they do regular sales, frequently, and Hofa is one of those *very few* devs who don't besides an intro sale - So they really do charge those exorbitant prices at all times. But they are not as bad as Sonoris audio. That one is just hilarious. 250 Euros for a basic compressor because it's transparent, or a very not fully featured EQ. Oh, it's nearly 500 Euros if you want the parallel EQ and the serial, rather than in one plugin. Prices like that in 2024 let alone even 5 years ago are just taking the mickey out of the customer (as we say in Australia). Yeah, I tried Sonoris plugins 15 years ago when all plugins cost that much, and I liked them. But now? The competition is so fierce and here they are with those silly prices where I can get the entire, full T Racks Max bundle for the price of one Sonoris plugin. And when on Sale, I can get that bundle of over 30 plugins for a quarter of one Sonoris compressor. You see what I mean? Sometimes something is so exceptional, so revolutionary, like let's say Vocalign when it came out, that the cost can make sense. But after demoing Hofa's stuff, and comparing it to everything else out there, I would say he's about 50% overpriced on average. RRP of his compressor should be 79 and 49 on regular sales, not 129, and so on. Anyway that's just my 2c, I have no issue with anyone disagreeing :) Love your videos.

@@LanewoodStudios I don't know what I am saying wrong but they keep deleting my reply. They do this to me all the time. Sigh. I mean I read and re read it and all it does is talk about plugin prices without any bad words and yet it gets deleted. I never felt so oppressed trying to speak than I do here, which is why I stopped paying for premium. Sorry but it seems I can't reply to you with what I wanted to say.

@@LanewoodStudios I'll try once more and then I give up. All I was saying was that I understand your point but I feel this dev is stuck in the past with prices, especially since they don't really do sales. There's worse from some other devs, not many but some, but besides the EQ, I don't think his products are worth the cost. The competition is just too strong out there. The EQ, yes, it's very full featured, and if I didn't have Fab Filter I would buy it in a heartbeat as I actually prefer the IQ EQ V3 layout (although I don't think it has auto gain sadly, which might have been a dealbreaker in any case). But other than that, I mean the analyzer and so forth, 130 Euros, I think that one is a 29 Euro plugin, and I think the rest of them are priced about twice what they should be. There's another dev that's really stuck in the past, wanting 250 euro for a simple compressor, and so on, and things like that just don't make any sense to me in 2024 because I can get an entire IK effect bundle for that price, with 30 good quality effects. I hope that make sense.
