Radical or free radical polymerization is a very useful and common method for the obtention of polymers.
Polymerization reactions are chemical processes in which monomeric precursors of low molecular weight are transformed into polymeric chains or macromolecules.
Radical polymerization is a type of chain polymerization where the chain growth and the successive incorporation of monomers start with the activation of an initiator, which forms a primary radical. A deactivation of the active macro-radical stops the growing chain and forms a final polymeric one.
