This video is part 1 of a full guitar building series where you are shown how to make a cigar box guitar from scratch (using a CNC). Specifically, part 1 demonstrates free opensource software and shows how to produce customizable guitar and ukulele fretboards. This software is parametric and has been written for maximum flexibility to allow woodworkers to customize their guitar fretboard to their heart's content with very simple changes.
The fretboard generated is exported as an SVG (scalable vector graphic) which can then be sent to other CNC software, a laser cutter, or the pattern can be printed out and then a woodworker can hand cut the slots for the frets. This video also shows how to import the SVG file into Vcarve CNC software and gives a sneak peek at the big picture of why this is an incredibly powerful way to manufacture your own artistically customized guitar fretboards efficiently, precisely, and at a low cost. One final note, for subscribers the entire script for this opensource program will be included in my next video for you to gain access to right away. I am not sure how long I will keep the OpenScad guitar script video posted so make sure you are subscribed so you don't miss your chance at some incredible software made available as a thank you from me to those who have liked and subscribed to my channel.
