We spoke to Alexander Huber, Stefan Glowacz and Dani Arnold in detail about the fascination and risk of free solo climbing. How do you think the three of them rate the risk of free solo climbing on a scale of 1-10? Their opinions couldn't be more different.
Ticino somehow doesn't come to rest. In Cresciano there is a ban on driving and parking, in Chironico there were too many people camping and now the many climbers are causing problems in Val Bavona. The access to the area is at risk. Dave Graham and local climbers are sounding the alarm: in the popular Ticino bouldering area of Val Bavona, there are more and more climbers who are not respecting basic rules regarding private property or the parking situation. The "flood" of visitors over the holidays and the associated large number of incorrectly parked cars, blocked access roads, open gates and dismantled fences have caused the situation to get out of hand. If things continue like this, there is a risk of partial access bans.
The IFSC is already being criticized again - because of its participation in the Neom Beach Games. Over 2,400 female athletes, brands and organizations have signed an open letter sharply criticizing the IFSC. They say it is serving the Saudis and not living up to its own mission, vision and values.
