Always a great day when Dave makes new content! I'm heading to the southern Loess Hills with the family this weekend.

Cool Cool Camp!!! Thanks for location indeed!! You inspired the wife and I so much we thinking taking jeep on a little road trip to check those backroads out this weekend. My goodness you take impressive pictures!! Yes the Iowa colors are starting to show off a bit!! Love this video, always look forward to the next!! Keep on your radar: Nodaway Valley Conservation for camping / Loess Bluffs National Wildlife Refuge (picture paradise) on your list. If you ever make it down to Loss Buff National Refuge, besides the big loop drive out on the refuge, you have to stop in at the headquarters park there go up to headquarters building and trail start around behind building that zig-zags up to an incredible stone staircase up the bluff to the top to a cool stone shelter, there you overlook the entire refuge. Bald Eagles deer to see and in season hundreds of thousands of Canadian geese.

That definitely would be a great way to explore right there! I actually had the Nodaway location tagged, but I will move it up my list! Really appreciate the guidance!!

When I saw the opening sequence and saw the shelter I thought you were at Jones Creek Pond. I didn't know about this site. I have my CTC out at my brother's pond now. Haven't been able to get out to it, life intervenes. But I did drive out for a visit last weekend and the Asian beetles (aka ladybugs) were swarming. Very annoying and they BITE! Thanks for the adventure Dave!

Great camp! Those night shots were superb! I'm definitely getting one of those gas fire pits soon. thanks for sharing brother!

That gas fire pit has been great. It is one more thing to carry, but to not have to deal with firewood it really makes it convenient.

Where you were camping, 30 years ago there was 2 shop buildings, silage pit and cattle feed yard.

That's crazy! You could tell there was a paved something under that gravel.

I use an old e-bike battery for a power bank. I did get a ecoflo river 2 that works well with solar panels

On our truck the rack isn’t tall enough for an awning so we went with a hub tent. It has its own disadvantages but we like it better than an awning.
@vancamp4022 ай бұрын
I just ordered an awning on Amazon! That thing has been so frustrating!!

Great looking country. I'm in Michigan and I must say it's hard to beat the Midwest in the fall. Most people here that were born and raised here say it's their favorite season. Great temps, great colors and no humidity.

It’s always my favorite when that first freeze happens, really knocks all the bugs down. And it also opens up the parks quite a bit because there aren’t so many people out.

Awesome video, thank you for sharing. Have you ever been to Pammel State Park?

I haven't yet! Really appreciate the spot, Iowa has such solid camping all over the state. I have it pinned!

Great video - all of the elements here . I didn’t see it in the title but as I watched it was very good . The open sky , fire , grilling , and the spot were awesome. Pisgah is a cool little town as well . I’ve camped in preparation canyon and there are outdoor fireplace spots around the park entrance . I could chat with you for an hour but I’m leaving it at this for now . I suggest another camp around here soon . It would not be redundant. Thanks Dave 👍

Great video. What’s the name/brand of that nice yet compact propane fire pit unit?
@vancamp402Ай бұрын
This is the Ignik fire pit. Absolutely love this thing. I did purchase some lava rocks, and that really helps disperse the flame. I highly recommend!

Can you drive up that trail you walked behind your camp and camp up on the hill?
@vancamp4022 ай бұрын
No vehicles allowed past that parking lot. But I believe you could hike in and camp.
