Free-soloing the West Slabs (Mount Olympus, Utah) & The 4 Phases of Hiking. June 2022

Climbing and descending the West Slabs of Mount Olympus, Utah. This was my 3rd trip up here and I love it each time as it is very unique.
BUT - it is a life-threatening undertaking when climbing AND crossing the snow-filled couloirs. Use my video as a navigation guide and entertainment, but not as an instructional video. You could very well get hurt and worse if you go-in underprepared. This is not just a simple hike/climb you do with regular tennis shoes and that's it. You have been warned!!
The views and the challenge are unmatched in the Salt Lake valley.

Haha we are no red-bull drinkers and live on the extreme but this one definitely is not for the faint of heart, or non-grippy shoes, and lack of climbing experience. It is quite terrifying in a few areas, but I love it!

Very nice hike.When younger,1978,I hiked about that same area,and slid down a long snow stretch.Nice video.

Back in 1978 huh - wow! This is a special place for my wife and myself now. It really pushed her comfortable levels climbing up and then sliding down the snow.
