Free State | Farm workers face exploitation

The new South Africa promised a break from the exploitative apartheid-era labour practices. Through the Basic Conditions of Employment and Labour Relations Acts, workers were guaranteed minimum employment standards and fair treatment. But 30 years into democracy, some workers in the farming sector still face exploitation, where some employers are said to overtly violate the law with impunity.
