Thank you for helping me understand why I feel the way I do about my husband he has been committing adultery and lieing to me about it and acting like I was the one who was trying to cheat and because of that it has been hard to pray for him I felt like God wasn't with me because he allowed him to take me through this for 13 years I realize now it wasn't God but it was my husband free will!

Daniel made a good point on explaining what self control is. It is not forcing myself to control my bad temper, thinking that I am bad. But it is to take sovereignty over who I am in Christ, to listen to what I honor, what I think is right according to what I learn from Christ. It is to flow with righteousness, not to fight with our soul and body. It is to obey the Holy Spirit. That way, there is no battle against our own self. It is why Jesus said:" come to me and I will give you rest. My yoke is easy, my burden is light...". I used to avoid saying the word "self control" because it creates stress in me, thinking that I have to fight with myself. But now that I know that self control is flowing with what I honor in Christ, I have no more aversion to that word. Thank you Daniel.
