Hi Tony! Great groove and great video as always! Could you possibly open up your right hand techinque a little bit more? In some point learning the bass there seem to become a problem (at least I have) the right hand position, stability and finger-picking technique when jumping through strings at higher speed than like 180 bpm and up. I noticed you (and some other really quick players) are not picking strings horizontally (to guitar), but rather UP from below. It seems very effortless and gives really strong and clear, defined punch. I have tried it a little, but cant gain nearly the same speed that I can while picking in a traditional way. (Federico Malaman and Anton Davidyants for example are playing that way, fingers 90 degrees from a guitar surfice - although they are playing quite fast) Why I have "doubts" about this "traditional way", is that if picking horizontally, there are two problems: 1. when fingers are rather straight - it seems that it´s not as economic movement than moving only lower half of fingers as you do. There seem to be more finger-movement and "gymnastics" 2. in this "traditional way" - the pick itself takes more time - as fingers will flex back some at each pick, so the picking seem to be less precise in timing sense. Also the notes have less clarity and definement, sometimes generating a little sidenoise when playing fast I would really like to develop right hand position and fingering technique which would afford to play really fast (if needed) with really good timing and clarity of notes. What ´s the best way for that?
