Enjoyed the video Andy! Nlog is great, both for wells and seismic (probably the best sector of the North Sea for quickly downloading subsurface data). Used NOPIMS in my PhD, which is also quick and easy. Will have to check out the Kansas State one- I was looking for open source data with carbonate successions (other than the North Sea chalk), so that will be a great place to look (bunch of Carboniferous stuff there).

Thanks Douglas. Nlog is great, but I often find it hard to find what I want and often requires endless clicking random wells to find a suitable dataset. I wish there was an easier way like NOPIMS. As for carbonate, check out this website below which may be a nice resource for you. It was left as a comment on my LinkedIn post. I have yet to check it out in detail. researchportal.hw.ac.uk/en/datasets/costa-model-hierarchical-carbonate-reservoir-benchmarking-case-st

That was a great video. Can you suggest some sources for MWD data?

Great! Appreciate your videos. Small correction: Kansas Geological SURVEY (not Society).

This video was so worthfully for the new researcher in this field. How, I can I get TOC carbon chemical tested data with bore hole of core to conduct unconventional resource of gas and well. Please, Help.

Nice blog post/video; plenty of stuff there I was unaware of. Any reason for not including the UK's National Data Repository?
@AndyMcDonald422 жыл бұрын
Thanks Alex. I did have it down as one to include but when I logged back it seemed the data was only accessible if you were part of a linked organisation. So it looks like they have changed the policy from being totally open to what they had before with the CDA. Hopefully I am wrong as it was a great resource

Hi Andy! Here is your first like for this video! Thanks for sharing! I'm just curious, what is your take on Force 2020 Competition, in regards to outcomes and solutions taken. Is there any solution that you favor? What do you think is missing from there? Cheers, Chip
@AndyMcDonald422 жыл бұрын
Thanks Chip. Much appreciated. I haven’t looked at all of the solutions, but based on my own models I combined both geological and data science knowledge to derive a model which ended up being very complex but relatively good 😂 But I know from other competitions that if a purely data science approach is taken the results can often be poorer. So having a basic understanding of geology and Petrophysics helps. It’s a topic I have still to flesh out and look into more.

Hi andy, i think another good website for huge datasets available for UK north sea is UK national data repository. Thanks

Great video..Any idea or video about ML use in production related operations like esp pumps data or production forecast ?
@AndyMcDonald422 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I am not too familiar with the production side of things. However, I would recommend checking out the Petroleum from Scratch KZbin channel.

Your dataset links are not useful, just wasted long time!!!!

Unfortunately I do not have control over these websites. It may be the case some of them have been taken down or have changed since I recorded this. If there are any sites you have found not useful or not working please let me know and I will update the description
@AndyMcDonald42 Жыл бұрын
I have double checked the links in the description and they all point to the correct sources. Some websites will require you to access other pages to find the data.
