I work almost exclusively in Part Design, should I re-think that?

I think it's well worth being familiar with both. One of the big reasons I gravitated towards the Part workbench is that some designs are easier to think about in terms of multiple solids that interact to eventually form a single solid. That one may be less important now that the development version supports multiple solids in a single body. The other reason that still holds strong is that Part works and plays well with other workbenches and PartDesign often does not. Other than that one practicality, it really comes down to a matter of taste. Which one meshes best with the way you think and work is very much an individual decision.
