Great videos. I watched your summary of open source Cad. Thank you. I was trying to decide if FreeCAD is worth the learning curve. After your video I will invest in FreeCAD because it offers so much once the simple things are learned. I am proficient with Chief Architect X10 and have to retrain my muscle memory. I am retired now and can move away from architectural drawing to a little woodwork. I have subscribed and dinged your bell.

Edward Pritchard Thank you. FreeCAD is really worth the time investment - especially as there is a very active community and new features are released quite frequently. Even if you are missing a certain feature there is a good chance it will come soon. 😏

Very useful set of tutorials for wood workers. Thank you very much. Still trying to get over the steep learning curve and this helps a lot. Does the use of constraints (sketch?) make it easier to attach the parts without having to add formulas to each part?

Henk Spaaij For the assembly of multiple parts you have to use an assembly workbench. This will be covered in the next part ...

Excellent video, in just a few minutes you show the potential of the tool. Thanks for your time. P.S. in later versions of FreeCAD (0.19.1 onwards) the formula box does not show all the parameters. (it's broken).

Brilliant tutorial and Freecad is brilliant too but after an earlier update FC 0.19 does not auto complete constraints and you have to fully type in the reference. Believe they are working on this I have gone back to using 0.18 for now.

Jamie Pipe I have the stable version installed and a cron job to get me the latest dev version each night. If a feature doesn’t work in one of them I open the file in the other one where it usually works.

Hi there and a big thank you to @wayowood for the effort and learning material. I have an issue with the clone function and the alias manager. I am on a Windows and FreeCAD version 0.21.1. Alias manager = Unaple to complete the task. And for the clone function, when changing the parametric values...no change in the clone objects. The only way to make it recompute is to go on the clone 'draft' and change the value of "Fuse" from true to false (or the otherway arround works as well) to have the clone being recomputed. Does anyone have the same issue? And of course does anyone have some sort of solution? Cheers and thank you

When a plugin stops working for me I usually just go back to an older version of FreeCAD - just try an older version...

When I try to execute the Alias Manager macro, I get a message in red in the bottom left corner of the window saying "Unable to complete task". I'm not sure what is wrong.
