Freecad: In To a New Dimension.

Ondsel engineering suite, a fork of freecad that is being developed by paid employes and feeding the development back to freecad, is way awesome. My favorite sketch feature is the ability to type dimensions on the fly. IE, i make the rectangle but i cant type in the first length, then hit tab and type in the second dim. So handy and fast.

That works in FreeCAD as of revision 37898 at least.

That reminds me of some of the sketch features in solidworks, it's good it's finally in the freecad sketcher the one thing I'd like to see is dotted lines for the construction geometry

It looks like you get your wish! I'm running a new weekly and the construction geometry is dotted.

I was unable to find the multi-dimension tool (now called simply Dimension) on my toolbar. If you can't see it, go to Preferences->Sketcher->General->Dimensioning constraints and select either 'Single tool' or 'Both'.

Some time in August is the current estimate. Rumor has it a more firm date is to be announced soon.
