yes exactly! But I find that happens primarily because university doesn't spend time teaching software! We only got software workshops during my first semester and one other class, and we didn't even use autodesk software. We were also not really taught how to draw/visualise our designs. It was assumed we would do all that in our own time, except in our course we have no time that isn't spent studying for coursework. It wouldn't kill them to have one week of flat out software and drawing workshops at the start of each year/semester, but nooo.

I recently started my internship and I learned that AutoCAD is an important tool used in engineering design. This prompted me to go online to search for courses to learn and this course has met my expectations as a beginner. Looking forward to the amazing designs I would do as I continue building my design knowledge and powress. Thank you so much for this opportunity once again to learn.

*Pro tips: 1) When creating rectangular polylines, you only need to draw 3 sides and the last command is "c" on the keyboard to close it instaead of wasting time finding the end of the starting point. 2) With rectangular designs, use construction lines and offset them to the centres of where you want to create wales etc. the MLINE command can be used to create the walls by specifying the distance between the parallel MLINEs 3) Every mistake you make in CAD is not a mistake, it is a leaning experience and increses your expertise and understanding of how to create a drawing efficiently. 4) Start LEARNING ABOUT AutoLISP if you really want to understand the potential power of what AutoCAD can do for you. If it seems like something you have an aptitude for then get stuck into learning the commands available in AutoCAD from the basics, like this course.

I'm an ArchiCad person with 10+ years experience and it was hard to start Autocad because it has absolutely different logic. Thank you! BTW I really like your style of explanation! For finding midpoint (doesnt need calculator) at 2:24:00 1. write a line from 2 red squares windows frame 2. Turn on Center Geometry Snap and Midpoint Snap 3. Copy the red node (central base) then move the midpoint of the Line 4. Erase the line That's it. We dont need to calculate and memorize the number but super accurate distance.

for measuring a certain distance it would better be to use the option in the top right corner of autocad where it is written "Measure", you press it and automatically measure any distance

Thanks a lot for this wonderful and helpful video!! As a newbie, with no prior experience in related industry, I especially appreciate the thinking (outloud) process to understand, besides using this tool, the considerations for space planning. TQVM!!
