Israel tries not to hit civilians. They simply want to take out Hamas terrorists. Israel also allows peaceful Arabs and some Arab Muslims to work and live in Israel.

If Gazans oppose Hamas they will be target as well. The muslin world has a culture of praising martyrdom and they disregard human life. All of these is completely different to the western culture. The western countries can’t understand their culture. Israelis know how to deal with them.

I don't think Israel is trying to genocide anyone. If you want to see genocide, look up the Rwandan Genocide or the Jewish Holocaust. I believe Israel is trying to remove the Hamas terrorist network so there won't be another attack on Israel.
