Hey Pavol! Since meeting you in Tenerife, I have been thinking about getting a set of medium fin's for my Leaderfin pockets, and seeing how much different they are :) Im glad you guys bought up spearfishing, and "shallow" dives with added weight on return. As a pretty dense 120kg, and 6ft6, the hard compound Pure Carbon Leaderfins have done me well so far, and can constant surface swim 1.5km without stopping and without issue, so medium may not do me any good personally. Great information though! Will defo be bringing a set of mediums for my next freediving trip to you and freediving! :)

Hi Pavol and Linda! Thanks for the video. I'm shopping around for new bifins and haven't decided yet (perhaps soft Molchanov glassfiber or soft Alchemy V3-30). I tried soft Molchanov Competition fins 2 fiberglass and they were really great, I tried soft Alchemy V3 and they were a bit to stiff for me in pool). Your comment about the bigger angle making the finns seem softer is interesting). As I don't only do dives for myself but also do safety for my buddies, I wonder what you think of using soft carbon fins when doing safety? Did Linda and Pavel use soft fins in Limassol? I have a pair of medium Leadfins glassfiber I could bring along for safety, but it's a hassle to bring a lot of fins.

Hi Peter, you need to look at fins for safety the same way you look at fins for spearfishing: since you might need to bring a lot of extra weight up in case of a deep black out, you need stiffer fins for that. Both me and Pavel were using stiffer fins in Cyprus than those we use for our own training. Trying to bring up double of your bodyweight (or more) with a pair of soft fins will simply not work because the blade will bend too much a give you no propulsion (I know, not the answer you were hoping for...!) Also, comparing stiffness between different manufacturers is rather meaningless, and ideally you should always try fins before buying them.

thanks a lot :) i was just in between 23 vs 30 angle for alchemy V3, i will mostly spearfishing (20-25 meters) therefore i considered 23 would be better option (i think 23 degrees more reactive/explosive), but now i consider it might be the better option with stiffer blade but also with 30 degrees... really hard to decide with no option try fins :( what is your advice?

We use 30° for everything. They work also for spearfishing. What is your weight and height?
