I checked off one of the dives high on my list. This of course is Pavilion lake B.C. the only lake with freshwater to my knowledge in the world with freshwater coral.
To learn more about this lake check out www.nasa.gov/a...

0:58 I have been to Pavilion lake, My pop was a travelling salesman in the 90s,a nd I travelled with him a lot.. I've been to some pretty cool places. Its amazing at how crystal clear the lake is, I know that seeing the bottom at 100ft + isn't impossible

Please if you have questions my parents lived there since 80's and we've been camping there in the 60's.. I found left lures and found covering it was stromatolites trying to make homes. I love cheeky brown and rainbow trout usually 2-5 pounds ... my biggest 7pnds. The area oh so mysterious at times you can hear for miles ... at night the stars. :) I just love Chimney mountain like a protector is guards us who respects the area. Well ..the pre-historical times seen the First people battled other First people nations for this charmed land the beliefs of many ledges flow story tellers. Camp fire stories from the remaining first nations people are full of interesting and wonderous stories ..

My backyard! My favorite for Kayaking. Kelly lake close to Clinton has the coral as well.

Pavilion Lake doesn't have coral, but stromatolites, the oldest form of life on earth. They are usually found in salty seashore environments. They are extremely rare in freshwater. That's why diving is restricted there in order to protect them. You saw some at 6:27.

Oh man I love this lake, I swam around that island for a while last summer with my mask on, I'm not a free diver but it was still one of the most beautiful places in the world I've ever swam!

Do you know how deep the coral actually is?

@emeraldsky8009 2 жыл бұрын
@@AquaticMonkey No idea about depth. I went about the same depth as you and found some smallish "corals" maybe 30cm high. They didn't look like much.

The footage is great. One thing you didn’t mention is that this lake has limited access.

Pavillion lake has microbialites, not coral. Corals are animals related to jellyfish. But microbialites on the other hand.are bacteria and other microbes with precipitated rock. The structures you observed at 6:29 looked like microbialites.

How did you get 200000 subs? And why don't they show up to watch?

He was just showcased on a local news outlet for his iPhone recovery, so I assume there are many new subs. It’s eco-cool content.
