World's Most Dangerous Roads: Deadliest Journeys Mexico (2008)
Deadliest Roads - Australia: • Deadliest Roads | Aust...
Every year, more than a million people from central America travel thousands of miles attempting to reach the promised land: the US. It’s a journey fraught with danger. Jumping onto moving trains, they run the risk of being killed or severely mutilated should they fall. We follow two young Salvadorians, Jaime and Lupita, who are eloping to Texas. Theirs is an emotional rollercoaster, full of hope and fear, as they dodge border police, brave robbers and rapists and face the journey’s hardships.

This is the first time FD is showing this episode. It is not a repost and we welcome all who are here to enjoy. Every year, more than a million people travel from Central America thousands of miles north - attempting to reach the promised land: The USA. We hear about it on the news, sometimes daily, sometimes forgotten, tossed aside for the next headline meant to grab your attention. Yet, these people, fleeing poverty, crime and despair, are still on their respective journeys, day after day, one foot in front of the other, the only thing keeping them going is the hope, the promise they keep to themselves in their hearts; that life at the end of this arduous road will be better for them and most importantly - for their children. It’s a journey fraught with danger. Jumping onto moving trains, they run the risk of being killed or severely mutilated. Would the people they left behind ever find out? We follow the fate of two young Salvadorians, Jaime and Lupita, who are eloping to Texas, hope and love in their hearts. Theirs is an emotional rollercoaster, full of courage and fear, as they dodge border police, outwit robbers and fight off rapists - a journey with unimaginable hardships. What does it take to make you leave your home, your familiar surroundings, your families? What does it take to put yourself in danger every step of the way? We try to find out.

What an exceptional documentary! I grew up on the border of Mexico on a farm. We often had illegals come work for our family. My heart always went out to them because you could see the desire, desperation and drive in their eyes. They were hard working people with more good qualities than some people think. This documentary is amazing and brings you to the hardest parts of being human. Thank you for all the hard work making this film!

The work that went into making this documentary leaves me speechless. It is incredible. How was the journalist able to document all this on the train and at night. He could have also got shot by the police in Mexico too by accident. It is just amazing journalism at its best. These journalists are angels because they report the truth as it is to us who never have experienced these kinds of situations. I feel for all the people who have to risk their lives, who have to run to escape danger, gangs, or other things in their countries all for a better life in the United States. God bless them all.

It so heart wrenching to watch and years ago in 1988 we walked across the border at that bridge in tapuchula where you started this film . I highly recommend Which Way Home. 2 Honduran teenagers feel zero love in their homeland n travel alone together. They endure hardships n in the end one just 16 dreams he cud have a restart in life or that someone adopt him. It taught me so well that not all humans have in them to be parents n that we all deserve a decent life whereever we may be. The cost of love is nothing, but it yields great returns. the documentary is actually French (i think a tony comiti production, he is pretty famous as a producer out here) and at the end, the journalists tell what happened (here it's been removed here not sure why) : Lupita and her bf made it to brownsville, she got pregnant and they plan on getting married. Nestor made it too and joined his family in Los Angeles -- but the journaliststs had no news about the other ones (Blanca Dora, Ruth and Francisco) and were not able to locate them, or get any news from them.
