Yes, I used to work with tube type tires and rims. You can get scaling rust and debris on the inside of the rim over time. Takes a very small bit of debris to puncture the tube. You have a spoked wheel so there should also be a protective flap between the rim and tube.... If you take it in to a tire shop they often can clean the rim and flap up!! If they do not have a replacement tube they can patch the tube with a patch kit.! ... PS if you have a portable compressor do not hesitate to pump a few extra pounds of air (5-10 PSI or so) into it until you can get in to a shop!! Regards Craig Reeves Vancouver Canada

It's a weird defect, only 300 km after fixing it with a new tube. Now the same problem again. Beautiful landscape, though. Happy days, Günter/Nürnberg

Hello Kinga, I'm amazed at how calm you can be and go camping instead of going to a workshop. I think you often drive with too much load and too little pressure. Add to that the bad roads and the high engine power. This can cause the hose to slip and the valve to tear off. So get it repaired quickly. Good luck. I hope I see you laughing again!

Hi kinga, what a pain with that leaking valve, hope they can sort it at the bike shop, my friend has a 40 year old bmw bike and it is bulletproof, he said the modern ones are rubbish compared to his old one, he is still on the original clutch cable and done about 150,000 miles. It's an R80 model. Take it easy until you get it sorted. Best wishes Roy in England 😊.

Kinga, The rims you need are Kineo rims. They are a true tubeless rim and not a tubed rim that was converted.

BMW do make cast aluminium rims that are tubeless you just have to find out which one will fit on to your motorcycle and they're very strong ❤

Cast rims are good for paved roads and spokes are much better for off-road. That's why I prefer rims with spokes.

is that a tube style wheel? or tubeless? either one requires that nut on valve stem to be tight. it looks like inter tube has shifted at which point you now have a very small leak to contend with. next time you break down tire check rim liner( they are supposed to help prevent inter tube squirm. careful you could have tire blow out at anytime if you are using intertube

I’m not sure of the set up of your tyres. You may find that you can get bolt fitting to stop the tyre slipping on the rim enduro style good luck.

I know it’s the more expensive route but is the F850 not tubeless? You must be able to pick up a cheap newish wheel or just convert it to tubeless

Are you using same brand of tubes? Maybe these are a defective series? . I dont think you need new wheels, a good inspection/repair should be enough. If you wanna spend: Excell Takasago . On my T7 i have and Will keep the stock ones, very good and are already paid 😊 . Cheers Brave girl.

The seal on my rear rim failed a while ago in Arizona so since then it hasn't been tubeless.

That is awful. I will speak only from my experience with the same problem. New tires were installed on my then a 1200 GS. 25 miles into a ride I noticed a wobble in the rear. Stopped at a gas station, and as soon as I touched the valve with the the air hose nozzle, the rest of the air in the tire came out. Turned out that the dealership , while replacing the tires, did not install a new valve (mandatory as I thought). Also happened again because the new valve was not installed properly. Sorry it is lengthy.. I hope it helps.
