December 2012 i fully surrendered my homosexuality to the Lord. I was wanting to be a man even though i was born a woman. The Lord in a three month period took me from desiring women to desiring men, though i still also desired women, to lastly desiring only men! I woke up one morning with the beautiful and new burning desire in my heart to marry a man and have children! I never went to therapy or took pills. It was through the blood of Jesus Christ that the spirit of homosexuality and transgenderism fleed from me! This womans testimony is also so powerful! Hallelujah :). I pray she gets freed from religion and keeps it fully about Gods way (Jesus Christ) and not mans ways to God. I pray the same for any watching this :). To God be the glory!

I don’t know what to do. I’m a Christian, I have been my whole life. I love God, I know I’m saved I relate to her past. I went off to high school, found an attraction to girls, and I have a girlfriend who genuinely loves me. I’ve kissed girls. I enjoy it. I love the feeling of her arms around me and the way she smells and I don’t know what to do. My mom found out a few days ago and I’m just so scared of what to do. I’m going to be totally honest - I’m still watching it and in the beginning of her testimony. I’m def going to finish it, but what I don’t understand is how and why she connects her attraction to women with sexual abuse or her not being/being close to her mom. I know this is a common thought when it comes to same sex attraction, but come on. I think it becomes undignifying to the human person as we keep assuming connections to a person being gay to some kind of childhood trauma. Deep down, it invalidates people who are attracted to the same sex. Also, her story of her hurting women and making decisions that didn’t put the dignity of the person first, is not directly correlated to her being attracted to women! I don’t understand that connection. You can be LGBTQ+ and put the dignity of the other person first. They’re not mutually exclusive. I’m going to keep watching but so far, I’m happy that she is living her best life. Truly. But, I’m challenged by the stories we hold up as a church when it comes to LGBTQ+ topics. I say this as someone who’s catholic and queer. Ok back to watching...

The “fasting like the Protestants do” definitely caught my ear. I didn’t know there was a perception that Protestants fast more/better than Catholics. This is really sad. But when you think about it, the average Catholic priest in the Novus Ordo rite is not calling on people to fast or engage in difficult devotions.

Karen Becker I know many Protestants who have never heard the word fasting. Most of the traditions that Catholics practiced for centuries are no longer taught by NO priests. This has lead to a protestantization of the Church. Only 30% of So-called Catholics believe in the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist. This leads to falling away from salvation and beliefs in ideas like “once saved, always saved”, or “just take Jesus as your personal savior and all is well”. With these beliefs why go to church? There is no longer a reason to believe in the true presence.

Mika, trust me I know all that you have said. Like you, I personally haven’t come across any Protestants doing serious fasts which is why I was asking the question. On the true presence issue, I went to my local Novus Ordo parish for the Feast of the Assumption. I’ve been attending a Latin Mass regularly on Sundays which is bit of drive so it was for convenience’s sake. It totally reaffirmed my desire to attend the Latin Mass. I noted how terribly distracting everything was and the homily was, well, “meh”, but the real kicker was after mass. I stayed in my pew and was kneeling trying to say the rosary and meditate on the mysteries of Christ in front of the Blessed Sacrament when the priest interrupted me TWICE!! The first time to small talk - how are you, etc. I tried to deflect and just said we should talk sometime with a smile. He agreed and walked away. Then he had the gall to come back and asked me to get out my phone and schedule a time to have lunch. I complied as quickly as possible not wanting to make a scene. I was dying inside. After he left I cried. I cried for Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament - for all the disrespect. It’s no wonder 70% of practicing Catholics don’t believe. It’s not a sacred space anymore.

Karen Becker I am a cradle catholic who grew up in the NO mass and knew nothing else. I was on my way to being lost in the faith. I always believed in the true presence and realized my obligation to attend mass but never got much out of it. The thoughts of “ I could do this at home” permeated my mind. But due to our current Pope and his desires to redefine Gods law and subsequently the Church, I started going to TLM and realize what I’ve been missing and it became clear what the church is missing.

I was told by a priest that if I wed a woman the "other feelings" would go away, but it turns out science has shown the opposite: studies have shown the longer a gay person remains in an opposite sex marriage the stronger the same-sex attractions become. And the priest who told me that is now in prison for molesting kids. Why is anyone taking moral advice from priests?

This is certainly a tough subject, let’s be honest, when addressing the issues of homosexuality, sexuality, divorce, sex outside marriage, these are often taboo subjects that Christians shy away from or avoid and even use scripture to escape the real issue at hand.
