The point of the bondage of the will, is that before our salvation, it is only God's will which works for our salvation, not our own, we can't will ourselves to the union with God, which precedes faith. We can however reject it. It is not about some sort of determinism of everything we do or say or experience, though some do believe in that as well. The most important part is that we thank God for everything, not ourselves. Which ever way of thinking brings us to that is what each person should embrace. The propositional statements that bring us there are not so important. Faith is trust, not knowledge.

Do you believe the separation between the believer and the unbeliever is that God determined the believer to be in the faith while the unbeliever is left in darkness by God?

@@RevReads I personally believe God is in union with all from the beginning, though constantly working to come into a more reciprocal lived union with every single person who has fallen away from it. Without Gods working for it, it would not happen, we wouldn't even get one inch closer to it. It is through the conscious believers cooperation, and participation in the sacraments, that the work of God happens. I believe we are all born in a high degree of union with God, and the world slowly brings us out of it, while at the same time forming our individual souls which need saving. Only by the works of God are anyone saved, but it mostly happens through the willing participation of those in the church, who are God's body. God does what ever is possible to bring every soul to the Kingdom eventually, without erasing them as free agents. Absolutely everything possible. Once one trusts God, one does have the ability to stop doing do. But before one trusts God one can't bring oneself to it. But it's not a magic flicking of fingers. Everything happens through relation with everything else, and one can't change one thing without changing everything else. This is just s logical consequence of having a shared reality, which is the goal, as far as I'm concerned.
