The reason is because the alien wanted to create a lifeform that can destroy entire civilizations. He is made to believe that the alien force is associated with the dragons and lilac is being disrespectful of their culture and a traitor. He is turned to the light later along the line. Him and Lilac are originally rivals, but later refer to each other as loving siblings. He is ok with Carol and Milla. He doesnt mind them around.
