I used to live and work in Slough in the eighties, printing Mars Bar wrappers 80 hours a week earning good money, enough to buy a house

There were loads of different races and no one made a big fuss about things

The firm I worked for rented me a house in a place called Goodman Park, it was half Indians and half Pakistanis. T think they did it for a joke because I'm welsh, but it turned out that the Indians were all lovely. We would be invited to eat regularly. the Paki's used to steal the girls underwater off the line now and again but they were still friendly.
