I grew up with pictures of him around my father’s home and could never really get into listening to what he had to say. I’ve found as I’ve become an adult I align with what he says and value that in my own life. I’d initially want to think he’s a reasonable person and I independently came to the same line of thinking, but perhaps all those videos I never paid close attention to playing in the background of my childhood made an impact.

I agree, Celia, that Mr. Prem Rawat spoke here more 'obviously' to folks in this situation (inmates in a jail), yet, at the same time I would like to stress here how, 'obviously', we ARE all in the same situation! We are all in different prisons even when we are not imprisoned in a physical jail, even when we are outside being Mr. or Mrs. Right. We all fall short of perfection. I am sure we all fall prey to judging others, and even ourselves...amongst so many other myriads of things. We, who are not in correctional institutions also fall into anger, fears, delusions of grandeur, lack of empathy and compassion, arrogance, vanity, envy, laziness, ignorance and darkness even if we are sooo good and never have set a foot in a jail. We may choose the wrong careers, the wrong husband or wife, the wrong reasons, the wrong thing to say or do to someone, or a silence that intimidates; all because we, as they, also don't know the real extent of the consequences of what we choose, just as these prisoners thought that they were choosing the rightful things for themselves when they did. We are ALL the obvious. I really felt Mr. Prem Rawat was speaking to me while he was speaking to the inmates, and I've never been an inmate at any correctional institution and am 73 years young, lol. Consciousness, clarity is a daily thing to achieve even now for me. I know that one moment of unconsciousness can bring great irrevocable disaster whether we're in jail or not! Well, I guess one can be an inmate or an outmate! LOL. There is another jail that is not in a correctional institution.
